About Solawave

Light, studied. Then made wearable.

Solawave started in Los Angeles in 2020 with one wand and a simple idea: clinical light should fit into a routine people will actually keep. The devices changed. The three-minute limit did not.

Built from the routine up.

The first Solawave product was a handheld wand that combined red light with warmth, galvanic current, and vibration. It was designed for people who wanted a treatment they could finish while the kettle boiled, not a clinic appointment.

The line grew from there. Flexible silicone masks made full-face light something you could wear without holding a panel to your face. A dedicated eye mask followed, then a neck and chest mask. Bye Acne brought blue and red light to a single spot.

Solawave is still run from Santa Monica. The devices are FDA-cleared for their intended uses, the formulas are made to pair with them, and every session is still measured in minutes.

How we work

Three things we will not do.

  1. Promise a new face.

Light therapy softens and supports. It does not replace a dermatologist, a prescription, or time. We describe what the device does and let you decide.

  2. Sell you a ten-step routine.

The device is the active part. A serum before and a cream after are enough. More products do not make a session work harder.

  3. Hide the limits.

Pregnancy, photosensitivity, active skin cancer, and some medications rule out light therapy. The FAQ says so plainly, and customer care will say so again if you ask.

The science

Depth is the whole argument.

Different wavelengths land at different depths. Amber stays near the surface. Red reaches the mid-dermis. Deep red goes further. Near-infrared passes deepest. A mask that uses all four is covering more than one job.

This table describes the intended use of the wavelengths in the Pro collection. It is not medical advice.

A note on regulation

What FDA-cleared means here.

FDA clearance is a review of a medical device for its intended use. It is not an approval of every claim on the internet, and it does not mean a device works for everyone. For Solawave, it means the devices named as FDA-cleared have gone through that review for at-home use.

The clinical study

Eight weeks, measured.

Thirty-two participants used the Wrinkle Retreat Pro five times a week for eight weeks. Investigators compared visible fine lines, texture, and dark spots before and after.

Study conducted on the Wrinkle Retreat Pro. Results are group outcomes, not a guarantee for every user. Consistent use at the stated frequency is part of the protocol.
